A painting by Dave and Jenn, represented by the NEXT section’s Skew Gallery |
If you’re looking for the freshest, most surprising works at Art Toronto, the fair’s NEXT section needs to be your first stop. Calgary’s Skew Gallery, which represents a range of emerging artists from Canada and abroad, will be there, as well as Montreal’s iconic Parisian Laundry, home to Valérie Blass, Rick Leong and a variety of other strong belle ville talents. Perennial Hogtown vanguardist Katharine Mulherin, who recently partnered on a New York gallery space, is always worth a drop-by. And there’s some international galleries in the NEXT mix too, like Bucharest’s 418 Gallery and Mexico City’s Astana Estudio.
