A piece by street artist EVOL, represented by Berlin’s Wilde Gallery |
Part of the fun of Art Toronto is seeing what new galleries join the maze of booths with each edition—be they from across the street or across the ocean. This year, Peter Wilde from Berlin’s Wilde Gallery is one of the new faces; Toronto is his hometown, but Berlin, the hotbed of young art, is his business base. Another newcomer is Anelle Gandelman of Anelle Gandelman Fine Art in Larchmont, New York, who’s heard great things about the fair from collectors and galleries over the years. Closer to home but new to the fair are Darrell Bell Gallery of Saskatoon and Toronto artist-cooperative Loop Gallery; each will bring Canadian fresh work to the downtown venue.
