Gustave Le Gray, The Great Wave, Sete, 1857 |
There is a brief but rare opportunity to catch a glimpse of one of the most significant private collections of vintage photography in Canada as Ann and Harry Malcolmson present more than 40 images from their 19th and 20th century collection at Lennox Gallery from December 14 to 23. The exhibition includes a print of Gustave Le Gray’s The Great Wave, Sete, 1857, one of the most admired images in 19th century photography. Other seminal works include photographs from Maxime Du Camp’s pioneering travels to Egypt in the early 1850s. The exhibition is curated by David Harris of Ryerson University. (12 Ossington Ave., Toronto, ON.)
