The Canadian Art Foundation is proud to announce that Canadian Art won major industry awards last week.

On June 7, Donald Weber’s photo essay “Quniqjuk, Qunbuq, Quabaa,” published in the Fall 2011 issue of our magazine, won Gold in the Creative Photography category at the National Magazine Awards in Toronto. At the same event, Timothy Taylor’s feature article “Man Standing,” also from the Fall 2011 issue, won Silver in the Arts & Entertainment category.

On June 6, Canadian Art‘s website won Best Web Editorial of the Year, Small at the Editors’ Choice Awards in Toronto, which are administered by the Canadian Society of Magazine Editors. The jury comments included “Excellent writing—engaging without excessive packaging. In-article galleries and audio enhance content without a lot of hoops. Crisp, engaging, intuitive site design.”

Both the National Magazine Awards and the Editors’ Choice Awards are major publishing-industry prizes judged by top professionals in the field.
