The 2012 Canadian Art Foundation Writing Prize is now open for submissions.
Designed to encourage new writers on contemporary art, this annual juried prize provides a $3,000 award and feature-story commission to its winner, while two runners-up each receive recognition in Canadian Art and a $1,000 award.
To be eligible, applicants must be 18 years of age or older and may have published no more than three feature-length (a feature being 1,500 words or more) pieces of writing in national or international magazines.
To apply, please submit one 1,500-word example of art writing and a 100-word biographical sketch. Applications must be received at the Canadian Art offices by June 1 at 5 p.m. Eastern Time. Submissions must be in English. Translations are accepted.
Submissions must be sent by mail only. Fax and email submissions will not be accepted.
