Reel Artists Opening Night Celebration & Weekend

Mingle with filmmakers, artists, curators and collectors at the annual Canadian Art Foundation Reel Artists Film Festival Opening Night Screening and Celebration. A special $150 (regularly $175) New Contemporaries ticket offer includes a fabulous pre-screening reception, a premiere feature-length film and a post-screening party. (Hello! New Contemporaries members also get complimentary access to one of Reel Artists’ other fascinating films at the TIFF Bell Lightbox during the festival’s first full day. Join us for a cocktail hour, then delve into what BlogTO says “The Reel Artist Film Festival takes us into the lives and creative processes of leading art world stars.” Lightbox screening and cocktail $35 for non-members. CANADIAN ART NEW CONTEMPORARIES Collecting at The Artist Project

New Contemporaries members enjoy an expert tour of the creative maze that is The Artist Project, an independent producers’ fair. Members will learn how to train their eye for emerging artists’ works and how to start a collection with affordable art. This four-day art fair is a rare opportunity to meet and purchase directly from artists. Tour $35 for non-members. New members are always welcome.

Studio visits have been some of the most interesting and surprising of the New Contemporaries events over the past two seasons. Stepping into an artist’s studio is an amazing opportunity to see their creative process from beginning to end.
