Apply Now for the 2009 Youth Arts Bursary
The Youth Arts Bursary program awards art institutions and artist-run centres up to $7,500 in individual project grants for visual-arts youth education initiatives.
The program awards a total of $20,000 in project grants to Canadian public galleries and artist-run centres to fund innovative visual-arts education initiatives for youths aged 5 to 18.
The Youth Arts Bursary has been awarded to visual art institutions and community organizations in Winnipeg, Windsor, Ottawa, Halifax, Toronto, Vancouver and Kamloops.
Last year’s winners were Ed Video’s “Curious Curations,” a five-day summer course where students learn to curate an exhibition of media art; Render’s “Our Own Backyard,” a collaborative project where students design and maintain a garden based on indigenous agricultural practice; and Images Festival’s workshops that allow youth to create short video artworks.
This year’s application deadline is July 17, 2009.
