Youth Arts Bursary Program
The Canadian Art Youth Arts Bursary Program supports innovative youth-oriented visual arts education projects. Project grants are awarded to public galleries and artist-run centres in Canada for youth education initiatives that involve youths aged 5 to 18.
The Canadian Art Foundation awards a maximum of $20,000 in bursaries, with individual projects receiving a maximum grant of $7,500.
The Canadian Art Foundation is a charitable organization that fosters and supports the visual arts in Canada. The foundation celebrates artists and their creativity with a nationwide educational program of events, lectures, competitions, publications and other initiatives.
Through the Youth Arts Bursary program, the Canadian Art Foundation is pleased to provide project grants for youth-education initiatives created by public galleries and artist-run centres in Canada.
GUIDELINES
Purpose
Provide project grants for youth-education initiatives that encourage artistic opportunities.
Eligibility
• professional Canadian visual arts organizations (registered not-for-profit arts organizations and arts community organizations)
• individual artists/applicants are not eligible
• only new or enhanced programming will be considered
• events that have been completed before the deadline do not qualify for funding
• capital expenses, fundraising activities and professional development of educators are not eligible for program funding
• all projects supported by the Canadian Art Foundation must pay professional CARFAC fees to participating artists.
• applicants may only submit one application per deadline
Selection
Bursaries will be awarded based on artistic merit, qualifications of artists and educators and ability to carry out the project. Programs should involve youths aged 5 to 18. Consideration will be made for projects that include professional visual artists and provide arts education opportunities to young people with artistic promise and financial need.

A detailed list of revenues and expenses, including
• artist fees and per diem
• travel expenses
• material costs
• other funding sources
Support material
• artists' resumes (maximum two pages per artist) or one one-page bio per artist
• statement of support from school or community partner (if applicable)
• most recent financial statement
Deadline
Applications must be received by Friday, July 16, 2010.
