RBC Canadian Painting Competition semifinalists announced

The Canadian Art Foundation congratulates the 16 semifinalists for the 11th annual RBC Canadian Painting competition.

One national winner and two honourable mentions will be announced on October 7, and will be awarded $25,000 and $15,000 respectively.

The Western Canada semifinalists are Noah Becker; Brenda Draney; Dave & Jenn; Ryan Peter; and Joseph Tisiga.

The Central Canada semifinalists are Sarah Cale; Janice Colbert; Scott Everingham; Martin Golland; and Sasha Pierce.

The Eastern Canada semifinalists are Julie Beugin; Anthony Burnham; Pierre Durette; Daniel Hutchinson; and Nathalie Thibault.

The work of all 16 semifinalists will be exhibited at the Musée d’art contemporain de Montreal. The three winning paintings will then be on view at the Toronto International Art Fair from October 22 to 26, followed by an exhibition at Toronto’s Power Plant from November 21 to 29.
