Canadian Art recognized at National Online Publishing Awards
The Canadian Online Publishing Awards, which were held for the first time this year, recognize excellence in online editorial and innovation by Canadian magazine and website publishers. On October 26, the winners for 2009 were announced at Toronto’s Gladstone Hotel, with Canadian Art’s e-weekly placing as one of five finalists in the competitive best e-newsletter category.
Over 250 entries were submitted for this first annual awards program, which was produced by Masthead magazine. Entrants represented large and small publishers from all over the country, including both magazine websites and online-only websites. Awards were presented in 10 categories ranging from best news articles to best design to overall best website. Winners and finalists in all categories can be viewed at the Canadian Online Publishing Awards’ results page. Canadian Art was the only art publication or website recognized.
Canadian Art’s e-weekly is a free electronic newsletter that delivers the top five shows in the nation, as well as links to must-know reviews, videos, audio and interviews, direct to thousands of inboxes each Thursday.
