Canadian Art 25th Anniversary Issue is on Newsstands Now

Canadian Art’s fresh new redesign delivers an image-friendly wide format and new editorial features that are designed to work in sync with our weekly updates on canadianart.ca.

Look for new editorial features that include “Newsfront,” a concise, topical section that provides readers with the inside track on the news that’s making and breaking in the Canadian art world; “Agenda,” a preview of top national and international exhibitions and interviews with related artists and curators; “Readings,” an authoritative roundup of the newest, hottest books on art, design and architecture for a Canadian audience; “Faces” and “Places,” photo-based features that focus on a must-know artist, collector or curator on the Canadian scene; and “Full Stop,” a full-colour image that fills the final page of the magazine while a focused first-person text pinpoints what makes that artwork so affecting.

In this issue, the country’s top art writers deliver engaging overviews of some of the most promising artists now shaping the contemporary Canadian scene. Monika Szewczyk examines the work of Glasgow-based Canadian artist Corin Sworn; Mark Clintberg writes on video artist Adad Hannah’s latest project; Leah Sandals interviews Montreal sculptor Valérie Blass; David Jager explores Kelly Richardson’s videos and photographs; Robert Fones takes in California-based Toronto artist Jed Lind’s new sculpture and photography; Jon Davies meditates on the films of Emily Vey Duke and Cooper Battersby; and Ben Portis looks at the subversive art of Daniel Borins and Jennifer Marman.
