We are delighted to announce that John Kissick’s essay “Elephants in the Room: The Looming Issues in Art Education,” published in the winter 2009 Art Schools issue of Canadian Art, has won an honorable mention at Canada’s National Magazine Awards. The article was nominated in the essays category.
Kissick’s essay satirically illuminates key issues around art education in Canada and beyond. The author is director of the School of Fine Arts and Music at the University of Guelph, a critic for various publications and a painter in his own right. Read the full essay here.
