On April 21, nominations were released for Canada’s National Magazine Awards. Canadian Art is pleased to that announce John Kissick’s essay “Elephants in the Room: The Looming Issues in Art Education,” published in the winter 2009 Art Schools issue, is a finalist in the NMA’s “Essays” category.
Kissick’s essay satirically illuminates key issues around art education in Canada and beyond. The author is director of the School of Fine Arts and Music at the University of Guelph, a critic for various publications and a painter in his own right. To read the nominated essay, click here.
