Our Magazine

Canadian Art covers the latest developments in Canadian painting, sculpture, photography and new media as a quarterly chronicle of contemporary exhibitions and artists. Working coast to coast, with an eye on the growing international engagement of Canada’s art, the country’s leading art writers provide accessible writing geared to a wide national readership. The magazine serves as a clear, steady and attractive vehicle to explore the art of our time. Since 2008, regular coverage on our website has expanded and deepened our review, feature and preview offerings. A more detailed look back at the magazine’s history can be found in our 2009 feature article “25 Years of Canadian Art.”

Canadian Art is published by the Canadian Art Foundation, a not-for-profit charitable organization. The foundation is Canada’s ultimate portal for the exposure of visual arts. Since its establishment in 1991, the Canadian Art Foundation has grown to deliver numerous educational programs in addition to the publishing Canadian Art magazine. All its efforts are dedicated to providing a destination for artists and art enthusiasts to connect and be inspired by art, in turn creating greater local, national and global visibility for the extraordinary artistic talent in Canada.
